Schools & Groups (we will not be accepting school or group bookings for 2020)
Leading a school trip is rewarding but also hard work. Hidden Valley staff will do all we can to make sure you have the help and support you need before, during and after your visit. Our information pack contains sample letters, permission forms and information that will make organizing your visit a breeze and have been designed using ASBIE guidelines.
Hidden Valley Ski Resort is an un-crowded winter oasis situated near Elkwater in the Cypress Hills Interprovincial Park. It offers graduated terrain that eases beginners into winter sports but provides enough of a challenge for even the most avid enthusiast. Our teaching system engages students in an environment that challenges skill, personal, social and cognitive development. The programs are designed for you by using teacher and student feedback and provided by CSIA (Canadian Ski Instructor Alliance) and CASI (Canadian Association of Snowboard Instructors) trained staff (we’re friendly too). We also have CADS (Canadian Association for Disabled Skiing) trained staff who are able to teach a wide range of Special Needs. Please let us know in advance if you require these lessons.
For teachers we offer the convenience of easy supervision, student centred teaching, morning and afternoon activities and a simple pricing and booking process. We will also give you 1 free supervisor place per 8 participants.
Learn 2 Ski / Learn 2 Snowboard
This focuses on the first time student or those who have been once or twice but lack the confidence to move to higher levels just yet. The program gives students more time to progress under the guidance of a professional instructor by having a morning lesson and an afternoon lesson to make the most of their day. That’s up to 2.5hrs of help and guidance from a pro.The objective is to get first time sliders to link controlled turns in the morning and then on to more advanced green and possibly blue runs in the afternoon.
As the name suggests this is aimed at those students who have been on snow before and have the skills and confidence to be on their own in control of their speed and turn shape on Green, Blue or Black runs. This program offers a 1hr lesson in the morning to get students started but also provides the option of a drop in clinic in the afternoon on a timed skills challenge course. This supervised course offers these students the chance to push their skills and receive some coaching from the pros on how to be more proficient in the course environment. Students will have access to the Mini Park with adult supervision.
For the older students we have a number of work experience opportunities for the winter. This is a great opportunity for winter sport enthusiasts to learn more about the industry. Please contact us for details. Places are limited and restrictions apply.
